St. George - President's Weekend

Chase and I took a little trip to St. George over President's Weekend. We stayed with his brother Adam and his family. It was a lot of fun. We left Friday night and arrived around midnight. We went to the Parade of Homes on Saturday and saw some amazing houses... Like a ridiculous 21,000 sq. ft. home, complete with a bowling alley and amazing swimming pool. My favorite house of the whole thing was the last one we went to. It was beautiful, and had a hidden room off of the master bedroom. The bookcases opened up into a cave-like tunnel that led to an opening that they had themed as "The Phantom of the Opera" - - - it was amazing!! And through the tunnel some more led to a private hot tub that was behind the waterfall of the pool. Absolutely hands down the coolest house I've ever seen!

We got to go out to Sand Hollow where a new development is going in. It will be cool when it's done. There is a golf couse going in and shopping centers along with a major housing movement!! We got to take a self guided tour around the golf course in the golf carts. I think that was my favorite part of the weekend. It was a lot of fun.
We did some shopping and played with Mason & Dylan. It was a great little vacation and made us want to move south to the warmth!!

Jackson Hole Trip!!

This last weekend we took a little vacation to Jackson with Dustin & Natalie. It was such a blast!! We left Logan around 9:00 on Friday night and drove all night. We arrived at our first hotel - The Antler Inn - around 2:30 a.m. We were sooo tired, but sooo excited to be on vacation! The next morning we were up and ready to ski the day away at the Snow King Resort.
We had gotten a deal that included a room, all day ski passes, and breakfast for a killer deal! After we got all geared up we hit the mountain. Natalie has never skiied or boarded, and I have boarded only a few times back in highschool. We were excited, and so were our husbands (they are more avid skiers)!! I think that us girls caught on pretty quick and were good sports!! We let the boys go hit the big slopes and we stayed on the "kid" lift!! It was a blast, but got very tiring, very quickly!! Nat and I made about 4 runs, and the boys did a few more after lunch.
We lounged around in the room, and ate at the famous Bubba's BBQ! After dinner we enjoyed the hot tub outside and sat by the fire and played cards. The next day we were pretty lazy until check out and then we walked around town for a bit - seeing the sites and enjoying the sunny day.
Chase and I had a great time and it was fun to just get away from everything and hang out with our friends. It was a much needed get-away!!

Welcome Baby Makell!!

So exactly one week ago Chase and I became an aunt and uncle from my side of the family. The first neice for both of us! My brother, Jared, and his wife, Emilie, had their baby girl on Dec. 22! She is soo dang cute, I can guarantee she will be spoiled! They named her Makell Aylene Cook. I just adore her, and wish they lived closer so I could spend more time with her!

Horsin' Around!

For those of you who don't know me very well, my Grandpa Johnson breeds and used to train thorough bred race horses. He recently added a new philly to the family! After a few months he was ready to send in the papers to get her registered. He decided he was going to name her after me! On the paper work you have to choose 3 names... one was Amanda P., another was Amanda James, and last but not least was Chase'n Amanda. I bet you will never guess which one got chosen?! Her name is now Chase'n Amanda!! How cool is that!? I hope she goes far in the race world! Anyway... here are a few pictures of her.

Craft Day!

On December 1st a some friends and I got together and made some Christmas crafts. It was so much fun to hang out with just the girls and make something creative! We did some blocks using the vinyl lettering and some imagination! I think they turned out super cute and we decided that we need to get together to make a craft every month! I can't wait to see what next month brings!

Deck the Halls!!

So the Christmas season is here and we have been slowly decorating for it! A few weeks ago Chase and our friend Kelly put up Christmas lights outside, and just last weekend we finally got a tree! It was quite the experience what with it being our "first" and all. Who knew trees were so dang expensive?! We got some lights to wrap around it (possibly too many lights)! That was a huge pain. Chase had to cut each light out of the cardboard packing.... then what had looked so great in our minds didn't look sooo great on the tree!! But we like it! I finally got a little garland wrapped around the stair rail, but the cord is too short to reach the closest outlet, so an extension cord will have to be found! My hat goes off to our mom's who decorate so nice each year... Who knew it was such a headache!!

Pictionary Party!!

Friday night we had some friends over to play pictionary, munch treats and enjoy everyone's company. It was a blast!! Chase and I don't like to play the old tradtional pictionary so we make up our own words. It was boys against girls and let me tell ya... our words ranged from easy to extremely difficult!! We laughed and laughed until 11:30! It was such a good time, thanks to all who came and shared their imaginations with us!
