Chase and I have been wanting some kind of pet to come home to. We debated and debated on what to get... Dog, Cat, Fish, Bird??? After going to the adopt-a-pet at Petco in Ogden a few Saturdays in a row we got a little discouraged. We really wanted a small dog, but soon realized what kind of time and attention they need and deserve. Right now we really don't have room for a dog, nor the time to spend with one. We wanted to adopt one of these animals that needed a good home rather than just buying one that had been bred to sell.
After much deliberation we found a cute kitty named Sasha. On an impulse I bought her.... we immediately had her declawed because they were sharp and she knew how to use them! At first we were nervous we had made a wrong decision (everyone has said how dumb we are for getting a cat), but we are really liking her!
She hangs out in the basement for the most part. She still isn't used to us and all of the noises that come along. But she is warming up and has started showing us her fun side. She is a little bit on the crazy side and rolls on the floor like a dog!! Anyway, despite what you all have said about having a hairy cat, we kinda like her!!
So on Monday the 14th we went to the Jimmy concert in Provo at UVSC with Kelly & Camille. It was a lot of fun! I'll admit I don't know a whole lot of their songs and I don't really get into alternative concerts much, so this was a new experience for me. They are Chase's favortie band, and I can see why. They put on a great show, and though I didn't know all of the words to the songs, at least I knew most of the chorus lines!!
The opener was a band that SUCKED!! Called Deer and the Head Lights (some locals). Then Paramore came on and they were really fun to watch, except they seemed to spit a lot on the stage. It kind of got disgusting after a while. But they were a good band to get you all pumped up for Jimmy Eat World.
Anywho... it was a great time! Thanks Camille for getting the tickets!
This last weekend was our niece Makell's blessing. It was a lot of fun to go home and be with my brothers and their wives and our new little baby!! I absolutely adore this little girl! And to make me even prouder... she looks just like me!! We pulled out my 3 month picture and compared it to her - - - she could be mine! I'll have to see if I can get that scanned so you all don't think I'm lieing! Anywho.. her blessing was beautiful. Jared did a great job and it was very spiritual.
I was soooo excited when Emilie put on this zebra bib, because its one that I was so excited about when I bought it!
March 3rd has finally come!! I got tickets to the Jazz game for Christmas from my boss and we have been waiting for the game to come ever since!! We made a date of it and ate at Buca Di Bepo's before the game.
What a great game we got to see.... Section Q - Row 10 - Seats 12 & 13!! It was a blast!! The first few minutes of the game A.K. got slammed down by "Dirty Dirk" Nowitzki (Chase made up the nickname). A.K. was outta the game after that. Every time Dirty Dirk would get the ball the whole crowd would boo! It was great! And then Ashton Ku--- I mean Kyle Korver came onto the court!! Whheewww...... girls he is much better looking in person!! If it wasn't for him, there wouldn't have been much to look at on that court!!
** Kyle's butt was fun to watch!**
We had a great time! Chase lost his voice and went through two sets of those noise makers. (yes I was nice and gave him my pair) The Jazz pulled through a win and made it all worth while!!
So I bought this cute little storage tower from ABC Distributing. I knew it was a D.I.Y. sort of thing, but I thought no biggie.... I can handle it. After all I am quite independent. Well after step 1 I kind of messed things up. I stripped a screw while trying to get it screwed in.... and then I couldn't get it all the way in, or out for that matter.
Chase came home and saved the day!! He put it all together for me and I just watched! It was pretty time consuming, so I probably will never order anything like that again unless it comes already assembled!!
Chase and I took a little trip to St. George over President's Weekend. We stayed with his brother Adam and his family. It was a lot of fun. We left Friday night and arrived around midnight. We went to the Parade of Homes on Saturday and saw some amazing houses... Like a ridiculous 21,000 sq. ft. home, complete with abowling alley and amazing swimming pool. My favorite house of the whole thing was the last one we went to. It was beautiful, and had a hidden room off of the master bedroom. The bookcases opened up into a cave-like tunnel that led to an opening that they had themed as "The Phantom of the Opera" - - - it was amazing!! And through the tunnel some more led to a private hot tub that was behind the waterfall of the pool. Absolutely hands down the coolest house I've ever seen!
We got to go out to Sand Hollow where a new development is going in. It will be cool when it's done. There is a golf couse going in and shopping centers along with a major housing movement!! We got to take a self guided tour around the golf course in the golf carts. I think that was my favorite part of the weekend. It was a lot of fun. We did some shopping and played with Mason & Dylan. It was a great little vacation and made us want to move south to the warmth!!
This last weekend we took a little vacation to Jackson with Dustin & Natalie. It was such a blast!! We left Logan around 9:00 on Friday night and drove all night. We arrived at our first hotel - The Antler Inn - around 2:30 a.m. We were sooo tired, but sooo excited to be on vacation! The next morning we were up and ready to ski the day away at the Snow King Resort. We had gotten a deal that included a room, all day ski passes, and breakfast for a killer deal! After we got all geared up we hit the mountain. Natalie has never skiied or boarded, and I have boarded only a few times back in highschool. We were excited, and so were our husbands (they are more avid skiers)!! I think that us girls caught on pretty quick and were good sports!! We let the boys go hit the big slopes and we stayed on the "kid" lift!! It was a blast, but got very tiring, very quickly!! Nat and I made about 4 runs, and the boys did a few more after lunch. We lounged around in the room, and ate at the famous Bubba's BBQ! After dinner we enjoyed the hot tub outside and sat by the fire and played cards. The next day we were pretty lazy until check out and then we walked around town for a bit - seeing the sites and enjoying the sunny day. Chase and I had a great time and it was fun to just get away from everything and hang out with our friends. It was a much needed get-away!!
